What happens next
We reply
We read every request and reply by phone or email, usually the same day. If something is unclear, we'll ask a quick question or two.
We talk about testing
If your home was built or remodeled into the 1980s, we'll ask whether the ceiling has been tested for asbestos. If not, we can help you arrange a test before any work is planned. See asbestos testing.
We look in person
We set up a time to see the rooms. Ceiling height, paint layers, water stains and the finish you want all change the price.
You get a written quote
The quote lists prep, removal, finishing, painting if you want it, cleanup and debris disposal. You decide on your own time.
What to have ready
You don't need all of this to send the form, but the more you can share, the faster and more accurate your quote will be.
- Which rooms have popcorn ceilings (bedrooms, living room, hallways, the whole house).
- Approximate square footage of those rooms, or of the home. A rough guess is fine.
- The year the home was built, and any remodel years you know about.
- Any asbestos test results you already have, even if they're from a previous owner.
- Photos of the ceilings, especially any stains, cracks or patches. Mention in the details box that you have them and we'll tell you where to send them.
- The finish you'd like: smooth, knockdown or orange peel, and whether you want it painted.
Curious about price before you ask? Our cost guide shows typical ranges from national cost guides, such as $1–$4 per sq ft for removal of a ceiling that tests negative. Those are estimates; your real price comes from the in-home look.
Prefer to call?
That works too: Call (727) 300-6656. Landlords and property managers with more than one unit can mention that in the form, and we'll plan around turnover dates. More on that on our rentals and condos page.
